PaperArtsy blog post Topic#14 Colour Wheel - Triads

Hi everyone, it's Etsuko (blog name) with you today, and I'm here to share with you winter decoration and cards using a selection of stamps designed by Lynne Perrella.

The current topic is Color Wheel - Triads and I chose PaperArtsy Fresco Finish Chalk Acrylic-Lemon Meringue (FF142), Summer Sky (FF150) and Prawn (98) as the base colors. My chosen colours are separated 2 segments apart as No1,4,7 as shown on the color wheel belowThey are cool color combination so I made these 3 items because I thought they would be perfect for decorations and cards this winter.

I used Lemon Meringue, Summer Sky and Prawn as base colors.
I combined opaque and semi-opaque colors to create a thick and beautiful color and I chosen the coolest triads 3 colors possible. I made it while looking at the tone difference between the colour wheel segments, so I didn't have the luxury of making extra my three colors. I made it again while looking at the sample of the wheel later.

First, I prepared three sheets of triads 3 color, bluish green, light yellow and reddish purple. If I paint each color all over the surface, it's not interesting so I added heavy cream and Prawn with brayer.

When I thought about how to connect these three colors to my work, I first stamped the same stamp on each piece of paper, cut it out, and thought it would be nice to make a mosaic, so I used it as the background.

I did a rough experiment with what would happen if I put the LPC59 woman's profile in a new PaperArtsy tissue paper circular frame against the mosaic backdrop.

I decided to making the background with that mosaic idea and paste the cut papers onto the card with a glue stick so that it would be a 6 inch square as much as possible.

I wanted to try with the triads 3 color a bit more so I used it for decorative trimming on these two cards.
For the first card, I used the beautiful LPC061 lady to make it the 7th segment of the color wheel, a card centered on purple. I used Infusion and Gold for my beautiful lady  as a focal point.

I used Gold for the Scrapcosy frame ESC33 and ESC30 scripts for the center frame and background.

Made the second card trim using LPC069 stamp.

I
used LPC059 stamp for the lady and PaperArtsy tissue paper for her frame.

This is a completed image of the panel. The background of the circular frame is a collage of the LPC061 skirt. At first, I thought that a monotone black stamp would be enough for the image of a woman, but I added color and added a crown of LPC007.

The panel side edging is trimmed with Scrapcosy set 33 (ESC33) embossed with gold embossing powder on black cardstock. Four identical circular gray boards were stacked in the center circle, and 8 mm high paper painted with gold was wrapped around the edges.

The circle frame and lady were popped up with foam tape.

Completion of the first card, I used the LPC061 lady to make it the 7th segment of the color wheel, a card centered on reddish purple. I used blue infusion and gold for the focal point lady.

The finished image of the second card,

As you can see the close up of the top part.

And bottom part--
Ranger Archival ink- SKY Blue is stamped with the LPC059 book pattern on the green-blue background.

This time's Color Wheel - Triads and the two previous color wheels were very helpful to me, until now I used complementary colors or my own senses to find out the colors. I realized how it had narrowed my color choices. I hope this will be a leap forward in my future.
Thank you so much for visiting.
