#14 Mash-up: LPC EEV EAB

Hi everyone, and I'm here to share with you the wall hanging  which is a mash-up of stamps from the wonderful PaperArtsy designers Lynne Perrella, Ellen Vargo and Alison Bomber.

And also recently Sara Naumann's technique of using resin on paper was so interesting that I decided to apply it to this project.

The first step is to stamp Ellen's stamp randomly using Fresco Chalk Acrylic to create a masterboard. I used stamps from the Ellen Vargo Set 02, 08, 06, 09 (EEV02, EEV08, EEV06 and EEV09), Fresco Chalk Acrylic (Fire Bird, Lemon Meringue, Slimed, Cerulean, Bubble Gum and Forget me not).

I wanted to reduce the colour of the masterboard a little more so I stamped Ellen set 06 EEV06 all over the top of the masterboard using Fresco Chalk Acrylic (Nougat).

Now choose a slightly larger banner from lynne Perrella Set 09 (LPC009) to be the focal point and stamp it onto the rice paper using Archival ink (Forget Me Not).
Dip a brush in water, trace around the banner and tear off the paper.

Cover the back and front of the banner with the resin using a brush or sponge (Sarah used a sponge). Use rubber gloves when doing this. Here I have used UV resin. My Ice Resin hadn't been used for a long time so it had turned yellow, good for a retro look.

With this machine, UV resin will harden in about 5 minutes, but Ice Resin should be left overnight.

The masterboard background is a technique I learned in Tracy Scott's workshop, where the outside of the circles are filled with Nougat to make the circle stand out.
To keep the circles from standing out too much, I used a script from Lynne Perrella Set 028 (LPC028) and splatter from Fresco Chalk Acrylic (Cerulean).
The background appears transparent through the resin-coated banner.

Alison Bomber's Winter quote Alison Bomber Set 05 (EAB05) is embossed with embossing powder Black on a Smoothy (Heavyweight) A4 card and applied with 3D foam.

The inner frame is made by stamping the plaid stamp from Ellen Set 05 (EEV05) in a sequence using Archival Ink (Watering Can).

Using the same resin technique, I used book paper as a base and stamped the Ellen Set 09 (EEV09) circle pattern in Ranger Distress Oxide (broken china) on the paper, coated it with resin, hardened it and hung it with beads and jump rings. Also it's not enough to use only wire for the hanger then I used the same technique and made crowns from Lynne Set 011 (LPC011) to hang.

I often mash up stamps from different designers to find a connection. But these three stamps were easy to make as Lynne Perrela was the focal point, Ellen Vargo was the background and Alison Bomber was the sentiment.
So this project was very simple, quick to make and fun to do with resin.
Thank you so much for visiting.
