PaperArtsy Blog Topic#7 'Mush Up' with Jo Firth-Young, Sara Naumann and Emma Godfrey.

Hi everyone, I'd like to share with you wonderful PaperArtsy stamps mush up with Jofy, Sara and Emma Godfrey.

I've been working on a lot of mixed media projects lately, and today I'd like to show you two simple flowers cards I made.

I started with the background. I cut a Smoothy (Heavyweight) A4 white stamping card into 8 x 5 inch pieces and applied Fresco Chalk Acrylic (Cerulean, Guacamole, Sage and SnowFlake) in that order from the bottom to the middle. Fresco paint dries quickly, so I mix it with a little Golden (Retarder) with Fresco paint. When the first gradation of color is dry, use Jo Firth-Young Mini (JM14) with Fresco Chalk Acrylic (Sage and Snowflake) and gradually add Snowflake from the bottom to lighten the color and stamp all over. At the end of the background, I used Fresco Chalk Acrylic (Hint of Mint) with Jo Firth-Young Mini (PA022) stencil and stamp the large and small circles from Emma Godfrey Set 15 (EEG15) on the three places with VersaFine Clair (Nocturne).

For the focal point petals, I finger painted Fresco Chalk Acrylic (Bubble Gum, Cherry Blossom, Peach Nectar and Blush) on Smoothy (Heavyweight) A4 white stamping card and used the lovely Jo Firth-Young Set 62 (JOFY62) stamped with VersaFine Clair (Nocturne). I cut and pasted them on the background.

The quotes from Sara Naumann Set 10 (ESN10) are stamped by VersaFine Clair (Nocturne) then embossed with Ranger Embossing Powder (Clear), dark green kraft paper and Smoothy (Heavyweight) A4 white stamping card underneath.

For the background of the next card, I used Fresco Chalk Acrylic (Turquoise, Guacamole and Blue Oyster) with lots of water and Gel-printing for a watercolor touch.

Since there is only one flower used here, I decided to add a circular texture to the back. First, I colored the edge of the circle with Ranger Archival ink (Sky Blue), embossed three times with Ranger UT Embossing Powder, and then stamped Sara Naumann Set 10 (ESN10) with the same Ranger Archival ink (Sky Blue) while it's hot.

The petals, stems and leaves were painted with Fresco Chalk Acrylic (Candy Floss and Blush) and (Winter Green and Sage) on Smoothy (Heavyweight) A4 white stamping card using a Brayer for each. When dry, I stamped Jo Firth-Young Set 52 (JOFY52 ) with VersaFine Clair (Nocturne).

Here's a closer look. I used watercolored pencils to add a little shading to the petals.

Finally, I stamped the Sara Naumann Set 16 (ESN16) quote with VersaFine Clair (Nocturne) on a piece of leftover paper, cut and pasted it.
It's been a while since I've made a card, but I got carried away and had a lot of fun. The gel-printing with a lot of water gave an unexpected result, and I think I will try it again.
Thank you so much for visiting.
Take care and stay safe all.

PaperArtsy blog topic #6 'Mandala mix'

Hi everyone, I'd like share with you that Paperartsy blog project 'Mandala Mix with wonderful Gwen Lafleur stamps collections.

I made a mandala that was a mix of embroidery and paper painting. The technique of incorporating embroidery into paper crafting is one that Gwen has introduced many times on her blog and in her workshops, and I was so inspired that I created a project here using the technique.

The first step was to stamp and embroider the focal point, EGL09 tribal stamp, and the surrounding EGL13 and EGL09 flower stamps on the fabric.

The tribal image was partially painted with Sorbet and Lemon Meringue using medium and embroidered on blue cotton using marble embroidery thread and beads.

This is the surrounding oval, where I stamped the flower on linen  and stenciled the Gwen stencil around it with Fresco Gold.

Only embroidery works was a little insufficient, so I made embellishments.
I painted the paper with Fresco finish Gold, stamped small EGL4 fish by Clear Versafine with clear embossing powder, cut one row at a time and secured with gold thread.

Dyed the acetate blue with alcohol ink and dried it, stamped EGL14 with Fresco finish Gold and cut out the leaves to make sequins.

The focal point of the tribal are stitched with gold thread, and the Dresden Trim is attached around the focal point, with each embellishments added.

Next, I created two different trim line bases for the ellipse border and the background and for the lotus flowers for the four corners.
For the red one, I painted Fresco London Bus all over on A4 white card and stamped EGL06 using Fresco Tangerine Twist and Bzantium respectively.
On the other hand, for the blue one, I painted Southern Skies, Turquoise, and Smurf, then after it dried, I painted a thin layer of Pumpkin Soup with water.
I stenciled arabesque by VersaFine Clair Nocturne and embossed with Gold.

Actually, I had a different plan for this background, but the contrast with the linen in the center didn't match, and the red trim was too extreme, so I changed the direction.

Finally, I used black cardstock for the background and embossed the ELG10 butterflies in Baked Texture The Altered Page in a keep it down. I distressed the trim and the red frame with Sepia Archival.

It's a lot of fun to assemble with different materials. However, it is always my  challenge to create a sense of unity.
Thank you so much for visiting.

Medicine Pouch at the Gwen Lafleur workshop 'Make a Statement'.

Hi everyone sorry, I haven't posted in a while.

Today I'd like share with you the medicine pouches that I made in Gwen's workshop 'Make a Statement'. There were many categories in this workshop, and one of them was medicine pouch. I found this theme so interesting that I made six of them.

It hooks up in the back and folds into a necklace. The medicine can be put in the pocket on the back and taken out at any time.Isn't it fun!

I've made so many others, I'm addicted!

Thank you so much for dropping.
Take care and safe.
See you soon!!

A dream flying Paperartsy blog topics.

Hi everyone, it's Etsuko(My favorite things) with you today, I'd like share with you that Paperartsy blog project 'A dream flying' with beautiful new Lynne Perrella stamp collections.

When I chose the theme "Free to Fly" I immediately thought of this giant butterfly stamp and decided to use it to make a little notebook with Lynne's fairies in the centre of it as their wings.

So I started by making the base papers for the covers and the pages using Fresco Chalk Acrylic Paints on Gelli Plate. I used lot of Fresco Chalk Acrylic Paints by Blueberry, Mauve, Forget Me Not, Nougat, Snowflake, Pool, Sky, Turquoise, Blue Oyster Guacamole, Deep Sea and Byzantium.

I used the butterfly stamp to create the cover image and the die to cut out these butterfly shape of the notebook's right and left pages.

This is the book layer. Used Smoothy (Heavyweight) A4 white stamping card to stamped Lynne's fairies and center paper. For the rest of the paper I used thicker copy paper.

I stamped Scrapcosy's ESC18 script on a sheet of copy paper with Watering Can Archival and made it a little bigger than a wings.

I stencilled the wings on the right page to look like butterfly wings.

On the left side of the pages, where the back side of fairy's head are blank and have many different shapes so I have pasted a small stamps image.

After attaching the fairies to their wings, I wondered what to do with the paint on the fairies, but in the end I just coloured them. I'd like show you how to do it after this.

The cover is made of a single sheet of paper with no colour blank and here at last, comes this wonderful image of a butterfly LPC41. Also I used the same collection for the back cover.

It's such a great image that the stamp alone makes a big impact, but I used embossing powder on the butterfly crest to create the embellishments.

Please enjoy the whole note in video form.

I've made a mash-up of various stamps and stencils with Lynne's stamps, here are some of them.

The first page is a quote EAB11 from fabulous Alison's wings stamp, which is appropriate here, and the background is the same Gelli print paper used by Gwen EGL02 stamp. The stenciled TS034 fairy's wings crest by navy embossing powder .

Page 2 :  I added Gwen EGL05 leaves on the left page. For the fairy on the right I gave her a bird and for the wings I used Linda's PS044 and Scrapcosy's PS134 stencils.

Page 3: These flying butterflies EGL10 were the inspiration for the idea of filling individual spaces. I also gave her a bird and used the letter 'R' on Wings Scrapcosy's PS064 stencil.

Page4: Gwen EGL05's bird also makes an appearance, here she has a collaged hairpiece and clothing, and on the wings is Lin Brown PS006 ferns stencil that I first got and my favorite.

Page5: On the left, Gwen EGL02's pretty flowers are scattered, and on the right she is a mash-up of old and new (LPC005 and LPC049) as the stamps have a very similar touch and wings crest is Jofy's PS011 stencil.

Page6: On the left, using Gwen's EGL11 stamp and for the crest on the right wing I used the same TS034 stencil as on the first page.

Here's the last page, again using Alison's Quote stamp EAB11. Well these fairies have flown off into the silence of the night.

I was very happy to have the opportunity to project my favorite Lynne Perrella's new release, and I will be using this stamp again for various projects.
Thank you so much for visiting here today.
Please take care and stay safe all.
